Full History
The Highborne exiles led by Dath'Remar Sunstrider did not find their final homeland at the first place they reached in the Eastern Kingdoms. They settled in Tirisfal Glades, but reports of strange madness troubled the community. After years of unease, they abandoned the site and journeyed north. The precise cause of the disturbance remained uncertain in the original account.
The exiles had crossed the sea after refusing to give up arcane magic in the night-elven homeland. Their new society had to be built without the empire and Well that had once sustained the Highborne. Tirisfal offered a place to stop and begin again, but the apparent tranquility did not last. Fears that a hidden evil lay beneath the region circulated among the settlers, although the original history did not identify that presence or prove the explanation.
The journey continued toward the forests where Quel'Thalas would rise and the Sunwell would sustain the high elves. Tirisfal remained part of the earlier migration rather than the foundation of their final kingdom. Later catastrophes brought the Scourge and Forsaken to those glades, but these do not explain the ancient exiles' reported madness. That question must remain unresolved where the eligible source leaves it open.
