Full History
As Lordaeron collapsed under the Scourge, Jaina Proudmoore made survival more important than remaining in the doomed northern kingdoms. She heeded Medivh's call and led human refugees across the sea to Kalimdor. Their settlement at Theramore began a new chapter for people whose home had been lost. Yet the distance from Lordaeron did not free them from conflict with the Horde or from the approaching Legion.
Jaina had witnessed the plague's spread and Arthas's increasingly ruthless response. Her departure offered refugees a chance to escape a catastrophe they could not defeat by remaining in their old cities. In Kalimdor, the humans encountered night elves and the orcs who had also followed the prophet. Cooperation remained difficult, particularly given the memory of earlier wars, but the greater danger forced Jaina and Thrall toward a shared defense.
The victory at Hyjal preserved both peoples while leaving unresolved questions about the new human settlement. Theramore stood within reach of Durotar, and later tensions would challenge Jaina's attempt to maintain peace. Her exodus demonstrates that the Third War transformed not merely who ruled Lordaeron but where its survivors could hope to build a future.
