Quick Overview

Theramore's fragile peace with the new Horde broke when Admiral Daelin Proudmoore arrived and turned the city toward war. Jaina wanted her refugees to survive on Kalimdor without repeating the battles that destroyed Lordaeron. Her father believed the orcs could never change and seized control of the settlement for an offensive against Durotar. When the Horde counterattacked, Jaina refused to aid Daelin, and his death left a wound no victory could easily heal.

Full History

Jaina Proudmoore had led refugees from the fall of Lordaeron to Kalimdor, where the struggle against the Burning Legion forced former enemies to fight alongside one another. In the aftermath she built Theramore as a home for the survivors and tried to preserve an understanding with Thrall's Horde. Their peace was delicate, founded less on friendship than on the knowledge of what another war might destroy.

Admiral Daelin Proudmoore arrived with ships and soldiers from Kul Tiras. To him the orcs remained the enemies who had devastated human kingdoms, and his daughter's confidence in Thrall was dangerously misplaced. Without seeking agreement from Jaina, he used Theramore to prosecute a new campaign against the Horde's settlements.

Rexxar and his companions uncovered Daelin's role in the attacks. Jaina confronted her father and pleaded for an end to the fighting. Daelin refused. The admiral's refusal forced Jaina to choose between the safety of the people who had followed her west and loyalty to the father who could not relinquish the wars of his past.

When Horde forces attacked Theramore, Jaina would not use her power to secure Daelin's victory. The admiral was killed, and the city survived under the shadow of the choice. Theramore remained a human refuge, but its founding generation had learned that even shared victory at Hyjal could not erase the hatreds of the older Alliance and Horde.
