Full History
Brann Bronzebeard went missing after traveling toward Northrend to seek information about his brother Muradin. Ironforge knew of his journey but did not possess a reliable account of what ultimately happened to him. The disappearance left the royal family and the Explorers' Guild with another unanswered question beyond their maps.
Muradin had accompanied Arthas during the prince's ill-fated search for Frostmourne. The events surrounding that blade left the dwarf absent and his fate uncertain to those at home. Brann, already an experienced explorer, had reason to investigate rather than accept rumors as a final account. Northrend, however, was a remote and dangerous land scarred by the Scourge's presence. A skilled surveyor could still vanish without sending word back to Ironforge.
The original World of Warcraft manual treats Brann's whereabouts as unknown, and his story should preserve that uncertainty. Later revelations cannot be used to fill the silence of the original setting. His disappearance demonstrates the limits of even the Explorers' Guild's knowledge and the personal risks of seeking lost history.
