His adventures connect him to the founding struggles of the New Horde. The article focuses on Chen's attested early role rather than later-developed histories of a new continent.
Full History
Chen Stormstout enters the original Warcraft story as a wandering brewmaster during the events surrounding Rexxar and the founding of Durotar. He is not a commander of a great army or the ruler of a kingdom. His importance comes from his willingness to travel, help new companions, and take part in the dangers of a changing Kalimdor.
Rexxar encounters a New Horde struggling to secure a home while dealing with threats in the surrounding lands. Chen becomes part of the group of allies whose differing backgrounds demonstrate that the new Horde's fortunes are not determined by orcs alone. His distinctive habits and identity distinguish him from the more familiar peoples of Azeroth.
Original-era history contains Chen and the pandaren concept without supplying the much larger cultural and political narrative developed later. The safe historical account therefore emphasizes his journeys and relationships with Rexxar's companions. It does not turn unknown details about distant pandaren lands into facts already established in the 2004 world.
