Quick Overview
Tagar Spinebreaker was the chieftain of the Bonechewer clan during the wars beyond the Dark Portal. His warriors were notorious for cannibalism and for wearing the remains of enemies as grisly trophies. His leadership represents a brutal strain of the surviving Horde that Ner’zhul attempted to bind to a common campaign.
Full History
Tagar stood at the head of a fighting people whose customs spread fear long before a battle began. Bonechewer warriors displayed enemy bones and organs, advertising that capture or defeat might mean an unusually terrible fate. The clan’s behavior was extreme even in a history marked by warlock corruption and the Horde’s invasion of Azeroth. Under Tagar, such terror became a weapon of identity as well as a consequence of battle.
After the Second War the scattered clans of Draenor faced both humiliation and uncertainty. Ner’zhul had to command the remaining warriors while pursuing artifacts that could create new gateways. Tagar and the Bonechewers belonged to that fractured landscape. They could contribute strength to a military undertaking, but their particular reputation made clear that no simple revival of the old Horde’s unity had occurred. Each chieftain brought separate customs and ambitions to the gathering.
Tagar’s warriors fought in an age when clans clashed over magical spoils and control of increasingly desperate military ventures. Tagar led a dreaded Draenor clan while the Shadowmoon’s plans jeopardized the future of the world. Tagar’s command linked the Bonechewers to Ner’zhul and the last campaigns around the Dark Portal.
