The Sunwell's legacy continued to trouble Azeroth after the Scourge devastated Quel'Thalas. The early volumes of The Sunwell Trilogy follow Kalecgos, a blue dragon, and Anveena, a young woman tied to a mystery greater than she first understands. Their encounters unfold amid dangers left by older wars. The story reveals how the destruction of a kingdom could leave consequences far beyond its ruined capital.
The Sunwell had sustained high-elven magic for generations before Arthas used it to resurrect Kel'Thuzad. Its corruption shattered a central source of the surviving elves' identity. Kalec and Anveena's journey moves among people and factions still affected by the Scourge, with the second admitted volume carrying them into the Alterac region. The characters' attempts to protect one another draw the reader toward the unresolved question of the Sunwell's remaining power.
Only the volumes published within the original-era historical scope belong to this account. Their mysteries should be allowed to remain unfinished where their later resolution lies beyond the admitted material. The chapter records the opening of a story, not an outcome imported from subsequent installments or expansions. Its significance is the continued reach of an ancient magical inheritance after the place once associated with it had fallen.
