Full History
High Explorer Magellas directed the cataloguing and fieldwork of Ironforge's Explorers' Guild. Under the guild's organization, researchers and prospectors mapped regions, studied creatures, and recorded the material remains of older civilizations. His work gave structure to expeditions that might otherwise have produced isolated discoveries.
The guild's purpose extended beyond hunting treasure. The dwarves hoped to understand the history of Azeroth and the possibility that their own beginnings were linked to ancient peoples and places. To pursue that goal, evidence had to be collected, compared, and preserved. Magellas's leadership represented the institutional labor behind the more famous travels of Brann and Muradin. A discovered inscription or ruin could only become shared knowledge if someone recorded and examined it.
At the original World of Warcraft starting state, the guild remains active and its questions remain open. Magellas's role helps explain why dwarven scholars appear across the world and why Ironforge supports work at sites such as Uldaman. His contribution is the maintenance of a continuing search, not a claim that every mystery of the dwarves' origins has already been solved.
