Following the Horde defeat, most forest troll tribes abandon the orcs; the Revantusk remain a partial exception. ” That account follows Zul'jin and the forest trolls as its main perspective. Zul’jin’s initial captivity and release, the Horde alliance, and the tribes’ postwar desertion. Most forest trolls reject the defeated old Horde; Revantusk preserve a different relationship. The original Troll Compendium recounts human capture of Zul’jin; the Warcraft II Horde campaign describes a rescue operation at Hillsbrad.
The original-era reading also carries this qualification: Zul'jin's whereabouts after war are not invented; source says he disappeared.
After the Second War the Amani and other forest tribes divided over the failed orcish alliance. The Revantusk retained a loose Horde association, while the Firetree and Smolderthorn joined the Dark Horde. This political fragmentation belongs to the present original-era geography and must not be conflated with the ancient divergence of the Gurubashi and Drakkari.
