Admiral Daelin Proudmoore pledged the strength of Kul Tiras's navy to the emerging Alliance against the Horde. Orcish raids along the coasts had given the island kingdom direct reason to recognize the danger. His ships helped turn the northern coalition from a landbound defense into a force capable of contesting the seas.
The Second War threatened ports, trade, and the movement of reinforcements as much as it threatened castles. A powerful fleet was essential to protect the Alliance's shores and transport troops against an enemy that had begun to operate beyond the Black Morass. Proudmoore organized naval power while Lothar and Terenas gathered rulers and armies across the continent. The decision brought Kul Tiras's maritime resources into a conflict that would range across northern waters.
Daelin's service explains his reputation as a veteran admiral long before the founding of Durotar. Later, after the Third War, he would bring the hatred formed by those campaigns into Kalimdor and oppose Thrall's Horde. The earlier pledge thus belongs to both the birth of the Alliance and the background of a later tragedy in which his daughter Jaina would choose a different course.
