Full History
Daelin Proudmoore was killed when his campaign against Thrall's Horde ended in defeat. His daughter Jaina refused to support the war, choosing the difficult peace she had helped forge at Mount Hyjal over her father's attempt to destroy Durotar. The admiral's death closed the immediate threat to the orc homeland but left a wound between human and orc communities.
Daelin came to Kalimdor with the conviction that the Horde remained an enemy that must be destroyed. Thrall's people, however, were no longer the same armies that had served the Burning Legion in earlier wars. Rexxar and the Horde's allies fought to defend their new settlement, while Jaina faced the cost of refusing to join her father. Her decision did not mean she had ceased to love him; it meant that she would not revive a war after the world had narrowly survived the Legion.
The end of Daelin's campaign allowed the settlement of Durotar to continue. It could not guarantee that distrust would disappear, and later tensions would still threaten Theramore's understanding with Thrall. The event stands as a defining early test of the post-Third-War peace and of Jaina's willingness to defend it at personal cost.
