Full History
Saidan Dathrohan belonged to the order of paladins that defended Lordaeron before its destruction. The Knights of the Silver Hand had once served a living kingdom with confidence in the Light and its institutions. The plague and Arthas's betrayal broke that world apart. When the northern armies failed and the Scourge spread through their homes, surviving champions struggled to decide what their duty had become.
From the ruins arose the Scarlet Crusade, convinced that Lordaeron could be purified by uncompromising war against the undead. Dathrohan's name became associated with that militant movement. Yet a deeper deception lay within its leadership: the dreadlord Balnazzar seized Dathrohan's identity and turned the zeal of survivors toward his own designs. Those who followed the grand crusader believed they were obeying a human champion of the Light.
The deception helped poison the Crusade's struggle from within. Hatred of the Scourge hardened into suspicion of nearly everyone beyond the order, making the survivors easier to manipulate. Dathrohan's fate therefore belongs to the story of Lordaeron's second defeat: after the undead destroyed its armies, a demonic enemy helped corrupt the desperate hope of reclaiming the kingdom.
