Full History
Sen'jin died amid the murloc captivity crisis described in the original Warcraft III demonstration missions. The Darkspear leader had already encountered Thrall's orcs during their voyage west, when shared enemies made cooperation possible. His death left the trolls facing both the loss of their chief and the destruction of their security on the islands.
Sen'jin's people had suffered attacks that made their homeland increasingly dangerous. The appearance of the orcs offered assistance against one set of enemies, but the murloc threat created a different crisis that could not be solved without sacrifice. Sen'jin was captured and killed despite efforts made during the rescue. The episode gave the survivors a direct reason to leave and placed the burden of continued leadership upon his son Vol'jin.
When the Darkspear traveled with Thrall toward Kalimdor, they carried the memory of Sen'jin into a new alliance. Their later village in Durotar bore his name. The death is therefore both an ending to the island chapter of Darkspear history and a cause of the tribe's migration toward the Horde's new homeland.
